Overview
Follow our heroes in OtherLight, Book II of the Light Passers Chronicles series, as Liyah attempts to rescue her brother, Khalib, abducted by a terrorist organization in Palestine and held in an unknown location. The story takes place primarily in and near Jerusalem, as well as parts of the Gaza Strip and Israel.
Upon returning to Palestine, Liyah learns that her younger brother, Khalib, is missing. Thinking it might be the work of local terrorists, she summons her friends Morningstar, Zack, and Kai Li to Jerusalem, considered the holiest of all cities, as the four attempt to follow the clues to obtain Khalib’s release. Things get complicated as trouble breaks out between the Israelis and Palestinians, with explosions rocking Liyah’s hometown in the Gaza Strip, Beit Lahia, and raising tensions throughout the region to a dangerous level.
The renewed conflict in the region, flaring up between cultural and religious factions, not only places them in grave danger but threatens the entire mission. What starts out as a planned short intervention transforms into an international powder keg, threatening to bring our heroes, and the region, to an explosive end.
In another action-packed adventure/mystery from Bruce Campelia, the teenage heroes must work together to locate Khalib before he is lost forever. But the forces of darkness are building quickly, and a cauldron of grievances, angry parties and evil plotters begins to boil over into the Old City. Liyah must find a way to solve the riddle of how to keep her friends safe in a city that is about to implode, without losing her brother—and her heart.
The second book of the Light Passers Chronicles series, OtherLight is a completely new and unparalleled presentation of what fast-paced, reality-based thrillers can be. Expertly weaving history, culture, and hope, this book sweeps young adult and adult alike, into a place where we witness the power we each have to create change in the world, all the while keeping us on the edge of the mystery until its stunning conclusion
